Launching the Public Innovator Profiles

We hope you’ll take a look at the newest feature on the Public Innovators site: PI Profiles. It is our chance to highlight the amazing work of public innovators around the country like:
- Greg Landsman, Former Director of the Ohio Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, who facilitated public-private partnerships in order to tackle poverty in Ohio
- Mary Ellen Caron, Commissioner of Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services, who increased the impact of out-of-school-time (OST) programs for Chicago’s children by engaging a variety of stakeholders across sectors
- Mike Roque, Director of Denver’s Office of Strategic Partnerships, who has effectively built collaborations between nonprofits and city agencies to better address pressing social problems
Each profile contains a summary of the public innovator and their innovative approach to addressing a social need, as well as specific keys to their success.
Public innovators exemplify at least one of government’s six roles in supporting social innovation:
- Encourage social innovation
- Foster a supportive policy environment
- Reward initiatives for exceptional performance
- Spread successful approaches
- Produce knowledge to understand performance
- Catalyze public-private partnerships
